Calibration Engineer – Automotive & Powertrain As a Calibration Engineer, you are responsible for optimizing and calibrating control parameters within vehicle systems, with a focus on combustion engines (diesel), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and hybrid or electric powertrains. Thanks to your work, vehicles meet the required standards in terms of performance, efficiency, emissions, and driving behavior. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams within Mechatronics, Automotive, and Control Engineering. Using engineering tools such as MATLAB and Simulink, you analyze system behavior and develop and optimize control strategies. Your challenges - Calibrating and optimizing control parameters for diesel, hybrid, electric powertrains, and Battery Management Systems (BMS) - Analyzing vehicle, engine, and battery data to further enhance system performance - Developing, testing, and validating control strategies for engine, hybrid, electric powertrains, and BMS - Conducting calibration activities on test benches, in simulations, and during vehicle testing - Collaborating intensively with control engineers, software engineers, and system engineers - Ensuring systems comply with performance, emission, and regulatory requirements
What we expect from you
Your Profile
A completed bachelor's or master's degree (hbo or wo) in Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, or a similar technical field
Experience with vehicle control systems, calibration processes, or automotive control
Knowledge of model-based development and control engineering
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus
Experience with diesel engines, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or electrification is a strong advantage
Were you actively involved in a technical student team during your studies, such as University Racing Eindhoven (URE), Formula Student, or a similar project team? That is a definite plus
Mandatory requirement: you currently reside in the Netherlands
Proficiency in the Dutch language at a minimum C1 level is a plus
