Hexcel is currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer F/H - Automotive Sector to join one of our French locations Dagneux or Les Avenières, this role can also be based at one of our European locations, or remote.

The Technical Support Engineer will serve as the technical interface to customers, supporting the sales process and ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of automotive products. This role is crucial for maintaining high customer satisfaction and driving product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Customer Support: Provide technical assistance to automotive customers in central Europe, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to product performance and application.

Product Testing and Documentation: Plan, conduct, document, and evaluate tests in production, technical centers, and laboratories.

Project Management: Lead and participate in application technology and development projects, including thorough documentation and reporting.

Product Qualification: Coordinate and execute product qualifications with selected customers, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Material Characterization: Characterize development materials and competitor products to support product development and improvement.

Composite Material Design: Apply knowledge of composite material design models and approaches specifically for automotive applications.

Technical Data Management: Compile and verify technical data for product datasheets, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support customers in Europe, predominantly Germany and North Italy.

Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector, particularly in technical support and product development.

Skills:

Strong technical competence in plastics, composites, and their production and processing technologies.

Extensive experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes in automotive environment.

Good understanding of design models and methodologies for structural composite parts in automotive applications

Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.

Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements.

Fluent English is required; proficiency in French and any additional language is appreciated.
